What does competing in a Clanbase Quake Live cup offer for me:
- Playing against brand new opponents
- New exciting maps & tactics
- Live streams on a daily basis (not just Penis.TV) with professional casters

- Ability to learn structures of real gaming tournaments

About the cups:
OpenCup - QL iCTF 4on4 (Signup)
OpenCup - QL iFT 3on3 (Signup)
Additionally, why not try your hand at the following Vanilla gametypes:

How do I create a clan on clanbase?
1) Register here
2) Create your clan here
3) Enter your QuakeLive username here (IMPORTANT... don't forget this step!)
4) Get your clanmates to register their own clanbase accounts & enter GUIDs
5) Add them to your clan (you can send invites either via e-mail or via their Personal Clanbase I.D.)
6) Sign up for the cup you want with your clan (links above)

Shady you speak now here with people that dont have money or dont want to spent money in QL because you need money to play ql ( create clans, participate in events etc.. ).

You can create a clan with a basic account and you can participate in events by getting invites. A lot of people with pro accounts are used to inviting people to games. And it's not difficult to join up: last season both banana clan and mi3anthropy joined those cups (mi3 iFT only, banana both iFT and Clan Arena), and did allright.
+ QL Insta config here was made to emulate Quake Live gameplay (although it still has some problems and isn't a perfect copy). I figured Playing the original version would be interesting for people here.
At the moment there are 18 clans signed up for iCTF and 15 for insta-Freeze with a week to go until deadline.
By the way: the cup mode will be the Swiss tournament system (small groups, then play-offs)
