Game feels extremely sluggish, especially if you press on and move fast. Just as you say. Compare it to vanilla or 1.03 (yes yes I know, I'm a whiner).

Same here.. and i have 9600GT 1gb +1gb ram ddr2.. and with the last pb release the sky skips, video scenes skip too, sometimes like when somebody is connecting to server (while sv_pb is off ).

I'm not sure that modern videocards with >128mb vram can't handle the game, because q3 worked well even on my old Intel i740 card. But I noticed that in q3 my videocard (GTX275) works in energy-saving mode, like it works in windows. And it has enough power for smooth game. So maybe your card also works in safe mode, but can't handle the game correct, or it sometimes drops to safe mode and then go up again. In this case you just need to force your videocard to max performance in driver options.

The new GPU have Powerplay mode. When the GPU dont need so much performance, the MHZ goes down. My GPU ATI 5870 need just 1/5 performance (157/300MHZ) for Q3. You can create some Profile with tools. I createt for Games a 3D Profile. Now it works with 850/1200MHZ for all games. For Nvidia you can use EVGA Precision.

I had PB Problems only with a old PC. It was laggy. Now it works perfect with PB.

@Ascari. Which GPU and OS do you have?

I found a bug on W7. When i dont take a Windows Theme, my CPU load is just 3% and the GPU load is 97% on Q3. When i use a Windows Theme, than the CPU load is 25% and GPU 13% and it works much better.
