urbandictionary has only two of them and the other one is rubbish. I saw the wiki one too but i didn't pick it cause it says a lot of things. A definition should be short and not with so much bs, imo.

That's a load of bs. It doesn't tell us WHAT IS a flame it says how the word is used, which can easily mislead the public (it's an encyclopedia not a dictionary). I didn't pick this one cause it "suits" my opinion. If you have a quote from wiki that differs from what I posted from urbandictionary, post it ;] Hell, i didn't even read all of it

btw, i intentionally didn't add to the mod qualities "e) Common sense". From the years i've lived i learned that not all have the same "logic" or "common sense". Different environment, different inputs etc. Maybe 60% or 70% of the population has the same "common sense" but i can't say that the rest are "wrong". My point is that term didn't pick his mods randomly of the memberlist. He picked them cause he saw that their "common sense" matches his so no point debating on this. If term picked moede as a mod would you say moede is a bad mod? I'd say term is a bad admin ;]

Lol, i would say he flipped his nut, like.

From my perspective, what amasses to a "common sense" (notice the word "common", it means it's supposed to be universal when applying to every thinking person) is - being able to judge a situation from the most neutral stand-point possible, acting accordingly, being at least fairly unbiased, being polite (at least to a certain degree) and being able to provide logical argumentation. Not so hard, is it? Of course, we each see stuff through the prism of our personal experiences, the way we think, our world-view et cetera, but there is a line drawn after which, we dont act with a "common sense" anymore. People that are put in positions of responsibility, should be more alert as to when they can allow themselves to dwell deeper into the depths of their own personal judgement, but that dosent mean they can be neutral in every situation, just, have a higher bullshit threshold.

Btw, thanks Wax for your post, really well spoken. All of you must remember that there is a team of people that form the staff, it's not just about individuals. And i think me and my fellow mods are complimenting each other nicely.
