hdd problem

sometimes my hdd turn off it self, it is my second hdd where i keep my games, videos, pics... no os there.

Can i run Quake IV with 256megs of RAM, 64meg videocard and 1.4GHZ?
Also can i have 2x64megs of RIMM RAM in and 2x128Megs of RIMM RAM in my other 2 slots?
