sometimes my hdd turn off it self, it is my second hdd where i keep my games, videos, pics... no os there. in my pc it is next to scsi hdd wich get much more hot than the one i have problem with.
any ideas? help?

u mean that plates stop turning around ?

power molex heve tide pins ? and signal tape are not damaged ?

scan that hdd for bad sectors

there is no such thing,

it maybe a loose connection because when i restart it and kick :!: (lol) my pc it works but i check the cables and they looks ok and there is no bad sectors, i have check it with xp error-check.

yes hq the plates stop runing, i can hear it when it happends,

maybe i should try to change the cable Thinking:

it is not that, only minitor is set to of after 10 min

looks bad then. if that was my hdd i would start making backups before it realy fails.

How does a non OS harddrive turn itself off...?

does it still recieve power?

if power still there, then how do U get it back up?

well then your hard drive is about to die. already lost 4 of them with same simptoms. IBM ? Big grin

try to change signal cable and power calble molex, if that dont help, im cose to say yors hdd electronics is damaged
