i know that problem with refresh rate appears when you using Nvidia (forceware after 7x.xx ver & your displey is not a LCD) if you wonna to have specific refreshin' rate for specific resolution you must download reg key from (nvidia.com) & add it to reg & afterr that option will appears in video serup, just make seatch on their forum (i have no troubles because have old video (FX 5200@128mb) & use old ver of software...

for solve ur prob u need only coolbits reg file. This coolbits works fine with new forceware - personal im using forceware 81.95. It enables in new forceware (after 7x.xx) refresh setup, oc and some other things.

Instalation is very easy, just unpack reg file and click 2 times.

Refreshrate problem

I have a question about refreshrate...my refreshrate is 65hz, and in quake the r_displayrefresh is 120 some how, when i make it 65 or 75, i get like a sideways widescreen type thing (the black bars are on the left and right side), and the screen is completly black.

ur monitor isnt able to get this refresh on res which u use. If u have lcd, it wont work with refresh rate higher than 75hz.

I have one of the old bulky monitors lol..if i set r_displayrefresh anything <120, i get the bars
