quake 3 opengl?
Hi i have a question.
Where can i download opengl for quake or something better? Im not into
graphiccard and stufff you know people do have a life... Anyway google it wont help.
I have a NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GTX, someone know what settings are best suit for it? Even though i have a kickass graphiccard and latest updates, quake 3 still look like something from vietnam yuk!!rotten..
Also i have an immense frameloss com_maxfps is set to 125 but for me it goes down to 44 or lower.. its annoying.
Someone please help me?
my Powerfull eyes are not as mighty as they used to be. ;(

You're right, i do have a life and no time to help you out. sry
neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeext!
i`m putting my money on your refresh rate. If u cant ovveride default refresh rates for certain resolutions from your graphics card settings (old Nvidia drivers had that) then get this little baby: http://dl.winsite.com/bin/downl?10000000036307 Very easy to use, all u gotta do is increase the default refresh rates in there. Be aware that if u got your desktop mode in 1280x1024 let's say and you play quake in 1024x768 then u have to change the refresh rate for the quake resolution (1024x768 in my example). Also u should know what HZ max rates your monitor supports, u don't wanna burn it down now, do ya?
If u got a good CRT monitor then go for 100 HZ in 1024x768 (even 120 if u want). If u play quake on a higher resolution than that use 100 HZ max, my recommendation. For lower resolutions than 1024 u can use with ease 120HZ.
Maybe this helps...
ps. next time u want some help, make sure there is no place for sarcasm around your demands
indeed, we grow in PALM trees
ahhh laptop. Then i`m not sure about those refresh values i gave u. On LCD it could be different, u should do a bit of googling before u decide on the values...so this display won't turn yellow aswell ^^
is it me or q3 doesn't use opengl ?
But explain q3's "vietnam" look. i really don't understand what it means. Crappy? well.. it is a 1999 graphic engine, what do you expect now, when you have things like Battlefield, Splinter Cell: Double Agent ( which uses pixel shader 3 ), Call of Juarez etc ?
About the framerate.. i had the same problem, untill i reduced the quality which my videocard provides. I have to do more tests, thou...
you can purchase a helping videocard ( for the new games ): Ageia PhysX
here's a quick taste of what PhysX is all about: http://www.ageia.com/physx/videos.html
But .. it doens't work with q3.
Ooh my bad
You know when its psyen (:
