2. Select from the skirmish menu or type in the console

This map is based on an old unfinished map with the same theme.
The map is formed by Excessive+ letters (seen from the sky)
and the players are moving inside.

The map is compatible with :
- excessiveplus plusN config
- ctf gametypes
- teamed spawns

* SPECIAL FEATURES *

- 20 spawnpoints
- 6 CTF spawns for each team
- 3 main rooms
- map based on Excessive+ letters
- a long tunnel surrounding the map to travel fast nice for strafe jumping
- spawnpoints and important items have special aura lights
- 1 secret room for ffa and single gametypes

ITEMS : large health, small health, armor shards, red armor, yellow armor, mega health
POWERUPS : quad, battlesuit, invisibility, haste, regeneration
WEAPONS : NONE
AMMO : NONE

Suggestions for v 1.0a

- work more on lighting (less ambient and more point lights so walls and floor would be shadowed)

- consider using standard textures (or smaller jpgs), smaller levelshot and no aas for smaller pk3 (~500 kb)

After this is done I could try this map on my servers

why no .aas file ? and why less quality or small map?? this will be in a mappack => all maps in 1 big pk3

i agree that the textures shouldnt be high quality but low quality is bad .. i dont wanna make a map that looks bad..

if you think about ingame download 15kb limit, then like i said, it will be a mappack so every1 will need to download it before joining q3 and will be able to play.
another solution would be maybe implementing the fast download into q3? i remember some1 posted something about this .. about how to download maps in q3 with more then 15 kb ... ( a small pk3?)

or leave it how it is

i understand what you say, but think that i have a big map with lots of details that uses only custom textures .. nothing standard .. how to do it in 500kb? it will probably have 2 mb or 3 or 4.. (i'm just saying)
ofc we need to make it as small as possible yes .. but i won't lower the quality too much.

I mean by : map compatible with plusN.cfg that the items there are placed like plusN should have so no need to update plusN cfg to have them Happy

But ofc map is playable in all configs and about all gametypes (it's not a tournament map)

@panda: I have tried a version with ur suggestions and I have managed to have a pk3 of 700KB but the quality is reduced + (have reduced light) the result isn't so cool. What I could do is a compromize between both things (quality and size) Happy

1. @epsi the q3-exe has to be modiefied for fast download, so the mod wouldn't be serverside anymore.

2. Why alis maps look always so ugly? Squares all over the place, i mean, boring texture design. (i dont speak about the map design, i dunno about it, i speak of the textures, they are so unidirectional)

If i would design the walls in my house that why i would kill myself earlier or later or die from boredom.

The e+ mappack is still under construction.

aren't u bored of same q3dm6 pro-q3dm6 6++ blabla6++ using all same textures ?

I can put a texture by room or even a texture by wall, but do u know how big will become the pk3 ?
