Football: England vs Croatia

England was World champion when I had 4 years, and my wife born that year 1966. But Germans still claim that England won final game by unfair goal.

ehm well those 3rd place..ok, maybe it's success somehow..but rather not for me Winking
ehm and Spain...ok, they always play bad in tourney but still they should play better with the individuals they have so they are always somehow counted to group of favorites Winking at least i expect them everytime to play better than they do in end .. but it would be not such great suprise when they win euro as if it was with Greece or Denmark (big lol at this one)..

well, maybe in overall it looked different, some nations played better than today (hungary? uruguay? oO), some worse but still Brazil, Italy, Germany.. were always successful and won most titles.. Tongue

Yeah, I know they were champions but since then they are called "quarter-finals" team.

And just for info, the 1st eastern-european football club to win the Champions League was Steaua Bucharest (FTW!!) in 1986 against Barcelona. They had one more final in 1989 against Milan but lost Worried .

Yeah youre right, shame on me:). But when it won the cup it was part of the Yugoslavia, and Croatia was part of the yugoslavia:). But yeah my mistake. Anyway Cro won the 3rd place in 1998.
