I tried green (Fatal1ty's and Pannenkoek's choice 
) and many other combinations, but pink/yellow worked the best for me. You can't overlook it! 
Anyway, I don´t think there's a superior color, it depends of what works better for your eyes.
For people asking, you can get many different colors (like orange) if you try a-z instead of 0-9.

thought so too first but if you stick with it a few days it becomes usual and once you try to turn it back to only one color (like green or yellow) you will quickly realize it's damn much harder to see all those enemies.
