Hi,

I asked this question already in the server administration section, but got no response, so possible it is a bug and that is why I am posting it here Winking

I am running dedicated 1.0rc2a servers on Linux, but somehow on the empty servers the timelimit for a map-change doesn't kick in.
With players on the server, the timelimit works as configured.

Linux version is 2.6.0. I had this 'problem' also on 2.4.23.
Quake point-release is: 1.32

I am using a slightly modified excessive3 config.
The servers are (also in the 'server section'):
213.171.64.77:27960 and
213.171.64.77:27961

Any ideas?

It is the way Quake 3 handle things. Why would you need an empty server to eat your server resources.

You also can't reach the capturelimit when playing alone on a ctf server.

Point taken,
BUT: I have run an urbanterror server (also a quake3 mod) for a long time, and it never had this issue.
The map cycle just went on an on, even on an empty server.
Besides, it lookes a little sluggish to me, when a server has a timelimit of 15 minutes and is playing the map for 16 days 3 hours en 30 minutes.

Is there a way to FORCE a mapchange every {timelimit} minutes?
Also: have windows servers also have this "feature" ?
Just wondering....

the map should run on even with no players, so people see you have more than one map

Free yourself use Linux.
