hmm 8600 is very ok for quake3 but he will not be ready for future games.
here you can see comparison between 8600 and 2900

the 2900 is about as fast as a hd3870 which sells at 183 euro here in holland.
an 8600 is strong but will have trouble doing quake4 at a decent resolution and quality.

watch this... @ 7950gx2

if u run low details... the gx2 score is kinda bad Crying
if u run high details... the gx2 uses the second core and the score is stable aswell (because of 2gpus)

now i payd for my gx2 arround 120€
the HD 2900 XT cost arround 300

what do you choose? :roll:

the hdr sm3.0 are about ingame effects i think and i dont have much knowledge of there numbers in benchmarks. higher is better offcourse. thats all i know.
if i must choose between 7950 or 2900 i choose 7950.
because of price and power consumption.
but if i must choose between 7950 or 3870..... Happy

how did you get that 7950 1gb for 120 euro?
the 7950 gt 256mb version is still 140 but the 1gb you have is listed as 300 euro, some stores even ask 500.
the new 8800gt is 270 euro. if you can get it.
(edit 230 but stock there says 0 ) Big grin

for sure superpi is faster with a faster cpu and faster ram ;D

Athlons runs on asynchro were slower than same cpus runs on synchro. Second thing do u know what are u talking about? u cant run mem in other ratio than 1:1 4:5 2:3 1:2 ect. so what shitz are u talking?

compare cpu and ram speed, and check times, and u will see fucking ram speed influence on performance. ill give u tip cuz i see u have problem with almost everthing. SAME CPU ALMOST SAME CPU SPEED WHICH WONT CUT -30 sek but different is on ram speed 490 v 600.

the 7950gx2 was never selled - "officaly"

nvidia just selled finished computers with quad gt.
after some months, nvidia understood nobody likes this shitty quad gt and nvidia started selling the remaining pieces of 7950gx2

a shop (www.alternate.de) selled this for 120 or 150€ (dont remember) - hm its funny cos it was a internal error of the shop... they got stiupid guys working there - i think they dont know that this card got 2 GPU's and selled it like 7950gt
