I open this topic not to be contradictory, but to see different oppinions...

I say before RAIL combat MG only if both players are equal skilled each with his specific weapon.

@ other players: What do u say about it ?? Cool

rail (instakill) > mg

mg is just annoying for peeps who are not used to be mg'ed (try to use mg only on plus server, lots of players start crying cuz u fuck up their aim).

Its simple...1 shoot=kill.....put 2 guys who aiming same fast and railer will always get frag faster than than mg'er Winking
Other thing is rail has pretty long reload time and while your railgun wait for shot mg is already taking some hp from your next target (apart of e5r where you can change weapons with ultraspeed so noone waits for reload)
DM17...put in one side hard*SWE and find a mgplayer whol beat him Laughing

a good rail team will always own an mg team on dm17 with an instakill rail config. There is no doubt about it.
After who prefer what, it's something else. Some people can claim they prefer mg but they can be good railer as well. And the "equal skill" stuff doesn make any sense, in my opinion. Some ppl with equal skill in e5 or in bro have almost all the time a different skill in the other config as bro requires to be a good railer and e5 to be a good mg player, u can't say "equal skill".

imo this topic doesn't make any sense and has nothing to do with e5 ranking, it just tends to rise some more flames here.

if you have 30% accuracy with rail and 30% acc with mg. it will be a very very close match.

also depends rail damage, 300 or 900? because then the armour makes a difference aswell.

dm17, rail would probably have an advantage, other maps it could be a different story.

I agree with the others in thinking that this is a silly topic.

I dont agree with this sentence. If You have mg 30 acc, You are very strong mger. if You have rail 30 acc, You are not so strong railer.

Imo what is better: rail or mg - depends on cfg. Many ppl like mg and hate rail coz they think its stupid Yoyu shot shot and again shot enemy and he just hit You one time and You are dead. But many ppl like rail and hate mg coz they are fucked up coz of enemy's mg, its irrating for them when You try to aim with rail and others prevent You Tongue.
On plus.cfg mg is useless, rail is best, strongest and most useful. But on e5r shooting with rail is much harder coz of enemy's mg (but because of faster bfg, too Tongue). For me mg is a bit better and more funny than rail. But there is no solution to solve WHAT IS BETTER. Tongue

Its good topic imo but to not flaming discussion, to cultural discussion Happy and it shouldnt appear here but in Discussion board.

rail on plus.cfg is so strong cuz its insta kill combinated with precision, as soon as u managed to get behind the enemy u can kill him with the weapon u prefer most if u can aim with it.

If you talk e5r then rail > mg anytime imo.

If you talk e6, then... :pukeright:

Never tried e5 so no opinion there.
