why do u find internet language that negative? ok i have to agree, if u work for a company its really a bit strange to use "lol" in a meeting, but i quite like internet language at all, mostly "wtf" in real live Big grin

personally i try to care, "with who am i speaking?" the relationship between me and mnc never was "very good". Of course i guess i wouldn't have a problem to speak like that with some clanm8s or with other people i have a friendly relationship, from people i know, that they know how i am, and I know how they are. (As much as this can be possible on a text only based relationship).

nvm (Laughing, it can be named "overreacted", but i don't mean it less serios because of it.

Imo it should be good to discuss the defaults for all those settings, as well as removing some of them that can alter too much the gameplay. I think that much of the options could be used just as an experiment to set permanent settings, because honestly i think that few people is interested in knowing the name of them all, and honestly too few people uses it.

Here i have suggestions for most of these options:

- for xp_weaponStyle, remove the cpma setting option, as no one uses it.
- for xp_freezeStyle, tweak it better, for example when there is no health loss by negative health regeneration you should raise the health loss by healthRotRate, for example if i can recall correctly in plusN 2.12 when this option wasnt implemented the healthRotRate was 250, not 1000 as it is now. Also, when it is in the no items values, maybe you can weak weapons a little bit since you can't have any items and you die in fraction of seconds by mg/lg/pg or by rl/bfg splash, or alternatively you could enable health regeneration for this setting only. Oh, and please, make 0 the default instead of 1, as it seems that players whine a lot for that setting.
- xp_publicServer is unneeded imo. I think that you should let xp_matchmode alone for server owners to set it properly, and just set it to 2 for ca gametype.
- for xp_physics there are only two values that matters, 3 and 7, which is with or without the PHYSICS_CONTROL_STOP option. Any other value is unwanted. I think you should limit the values for it with the following code, instead of letting it be completely configurable:

- I think xp_SwitchRatio should be immediately removed, as the switchtime is a really delicate matter that is not very easy to get used to, and having it customizable sucks, and its already enough with xp_weaponStyle for it anyway. I have to admit that i dont like the 1.02b switch style, but i dont care anymore as i already kind of got used to it, and it also has the 1.03 switch so it is no problem.
- The rest of the options might be fine, as they involve not so important matters. However, it might be good if you work on the default values. For example, the default xp_antySpamTime is quite spammy, weapon ammo never runs out Winking.
- Finally, put all the config settings (or the most important at least) on a cvar, like this:

That way server owners can publish what settings they are running by put it on the serverinfo, or on a crontab entry like this (needs 25 dec server update or higher):

Regarding switchtime - Generally people disslike the 1.02 swithalike option. (Guns doesnt shoot) => I think it's because different weapons have different switchtimes.

Also, as I wrote in generall plusN thread: The 1.03 switchoption != 1.03 plus switchtime, its way way faster. (The option currently used at beer.)

it is there for a reason, to attract cpm players, and since it's not a harm having it in, it will remain Happy

Wanted to prevent hiding by players, thats why there is not any positive health regeneration, witch leads only to camping, and benefits passive style of playing. If someone is crazy enough to play completely without items he must be aware that his health won't be restored while hes camping or spaming the enter to don't let enemy get him.

I see there no other possibility than enabling positive health regeneration for no items style but keep in mind how the CW's looked like before... and i beg u don't use that style for CW Confused

About the gun power, yes they might feel overpowered but reducing their power will lead RG going to be more awarded than it is now and in order to keep the balance i simply can't reduce dmg of those weapons. Backing in memories to the 2003/2004 mg had 30dmg same as it have now.

sorry but i don't understand what is the negative effect?

xp_publicServer - config is designed for CW, so the cmd won't be removed
xp_physics - going to be limited
xp_antySpamTime - going to be increased, although i thought serveradmins will give me good number before I'll decide for that Winking

there will be new weaponStyle 4, all power type weapons 250ms, mg-type 1ms, gauntlet 150ms and it's going to be default

btw all we know why they whine that weapons ain't fire... they trying to spam using the group of (gl, bfg, rl, rg, sg) as one weapon... without even trying to learn the unique switches for every weapon, hands drooping down seriously Confused

if i even the switch times, we going back to the spam... and the order going to be flipped upside down again, RG is designed to be used in long range combat and since he is most powerful weapon in current config it also have the slowest switch time, the second powerful weapon BFG;

it looks like that:
order by most effective:
1. Rail 330ms
2. BFG 300ms
3. Rockets 290ms
4. Shogun 287ms
5. Grenades 240ms
6. Plasma gun 1ms
7. Lightning gun 1ms
8. Machine gun 1ms

did i messed something up? any suggestions?

wanted force people to use other weapons for close range combat that RG, but seems they want all weapons was good in all circumstances and behave in close range combat pretty the same, and the balance going to the hell Confused

In this MOD, there are mostly 'old players'. Considering this fact, it seems highly illogical to change CFGs in any way after a version change. I know it's not easy to make them the same as in 1.03 but find a solution! PLUS(N) is almost a railonly CFG now... and E5R has been changed to something worse as well. We are digging our graves with these changes... we cannot see how stupid an idea it was to change anything at all.
