just type higher numbers and if pc crash more vcore xD and fur sure the ram Tongue

This worked on old systems, more precisely, before the 64bit architecture came along.Hardware was slower and more safer for overclocking cause ICs for example were thicker and more resistant to heat.Proof of this is DDR 1 memories with default voltage of 2.5v while DDR 2 is default 1.8v.

Bert,we are talking about overclocking.Ppl clocked their phenoms, they died.Period.This shouldnt happen when u max out a cpu...and I was also referring to the crappy IMC in phenoms that made them die cause of high ram voltage. Not to mention ppl lost their phenoms during normal surfing or DOA phenoms,or unable to boot at all, without any clocking to begin with.Maybe the situation changed now with later batches, but I rather wait a bit longer...
RAMs themselves died cause of different reasons, like PSU ripple, drive strengths, non adequate cooling..and they did die alot less on intel then on AMD.I stll know alot of ppl from cro hardware forums running their ballistix on 1000 MHz 3-3-3-12 on 2.5 or 2.6v for some months now, intel systems ofc.
2.2v is considered safe if u put a blower on it,which should be taken as mandatory even if u keep it on stock volts.

phenoms died on crap motherboards ratz, thats why i recommend gigabyte.
you make phenom sound bad but its the prefered chip in servers and supercomputers above the powerhog intel.

maximum voltage for ram is 2.1, more it just stupid.
this is for intel and amd.

 ehm some chips for normal work need 2.2 v for example my patriot.

So you know quite bad Winking P35 is unquestioningly the best chipset for Intel. X38 is going to be nice too, but it's not much better than P35 so far, maybe it gonna be in the soon future.

U misunderstood...I wasnt referring to intel + nvidia chipset,I was referring to intel + nvidia gfx card.

Ah, sorry, my bad.

Lol you would like to be it so easy. Overclocking knowledge is much more expansioned that you may think. More FSB, More Vcore might be good rule for newbies who wants to make their PC working faster, not for real o/c fanatics Happy

also.

Lmao, as Flex said, many RAMs, especially those created for overlcking got stock vcore 2.0-2.2 and you can run it normally about 2.3-2.4, even people are trying 2.8+ but for records only.

And about D9GMH microns, they are dying, beacouse voltage much shorten their life-span. For example D9 working 2 days on 2.8V will probobly die. So you can run it for 1 day at 2.8, then make it lower but life-span goes down for 50%. Anyway it isn't any problem, cuz producent which has a sens of self-respect is giving life-time warranty to the memories, and you can easly get it back if you burn them by voltage, cuz there is no way to proof it's your fault Winking

And who here cares about supercomputers and servers? Noone Happy We are gamers, modders, clockers, normal users... phenom and rd790 is relatively new tech and its gonna take time to fix problems, and ofc gigabyte was the only one who showed stability on the new chipset so far.But the point of the last few posts was to prove that if u choose amd,be ready to do some extensive googling and researching so that u dont buy crap or destroy sometn cause of lack of knowledge and then cry about it later on forums.
On intel possibility for this is greatly reduced...period.

Dont get me wrong,Im neither intel nor AMD fanboi,I wanna warn newcomers and wannabe clockers that intel is probably the better solution for them, but also more expencive.I almost took intel myself, caue 5 GHz doesnt sound bad at all,but price of 200 euro for cpu backed me down.My 5000+ BE was 100 euro and it should reach 3.1 or 3.2 GHz.

I don't really think it's so easy to crash AMD cpu, but for sure Intel is better for "wannabe clockers" Winking Intel more expensive? Where? Happy

ok put 2.2 volt on ram and wait 1 year and watch it die, then try to rma it in poland. Big grin
good luck dude!

Thanks Flex Winking

And Bert, don't be funny. 2.2V is stock voltage for many memories. So 2.4 for 2.2 memory is like 2.1 for 1.8. Memory like it can work many years at 2.25~. They will die in 1 year if it's 2.4-2.5, not 2.2 lol Happy And there is no problem with rma in Poland if here is any distrubutor, if not, there is also no problem to ship it to another country and get new ones.
