An does anyone know if this case is good with ATX motherboards Thermaltake Shark Black Aluminium Tower Case
For the Phenom 9500 Quad Core.

Missed this sentense before. Phenoms are crappy, if you really need quad cpu take 6600Q from intel, cuz phenoms gets owned in everything. Best choise anyway would be wait for 45nm quads, they should come in 1-2 weeks.

Zack > first of all, don't take Corsair 550, cuz it's not providered to Corsair by Seasonic, so take 520XH, becaouse its pretty another PSU.

Second thing as I said, AMD platform sux for this moment, especially phenoms, so if you need quad wait those 1-2 weeks for 45nm intel quads, or if you need it fast, take Q6600, NOT phenom. And some mainboard with P35 chipset like Asus P5K-E.

I would also take some another hard disk like Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB.

Rest is ok.

EDIT:
And cooler for CPU, depends how much cash you got for it. And what do you need (silence, efficiency whats the priority), gonna overclock?

Hopefully this will do lol.

CPU:
Intel Core 2 Quad (Q9450)

PSU:
Corsair HX520 520 Watt PSU

Motherboard:
Intel DP35DP Motherboard

RAM:
Kingston HyperX 2GB (2x1GB) 800MHz PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM Non-ECC Unbuffered (5-5-5-15)

GFX:
XFX GeForce 8800 GT

Hard Drive:
SEAGATE Barracuda 7200.10

Gamers Case:
NZXT Case Hush Black ATX midi tower

DVD Drive:
Pioneer DVR-115DBK

CPU Cooler:
Akasa EVO 120

This setup cost's around £660.

imo now isnt good time to buy new PC. If u already decided to buy new one, keep in mind for some less time u can get even better for moneys which you invested. Especially around adds like RAMs, GFX, HDDs, etc...

I must disagree.Im planning a new pc since november and nothing changed much xcept prices went down a bit,in the sole market of pc hardware not much has changed. And what u said will be valid at any time, anywhere. As soon as u buy a new pc its allready old.no matter how long u wait.

Its like buying new car, soon as you drive it out of the showroom u loose £££ instantly!

Im buying that setup on 14th march.
If someone finds better or cheaper componants. Then i'll go with them but im sticking with this setup for now.

Wat you got in mind Ratz?

Zack > not this crappy motherboard. If you got money take for example Asus P5K-E, or something cheaper like Abit IP35 or MSI NEO2-FR.

Anyway, if you see in your link near Q9450, there is "Expected 12 March 2008" (my birthday Laughing ), so you have to wait a bit, and probobly wait next few days until new bios to motherboards will come, dunno if quads will work on bios created for E8x00 series, probobly not. Anyway i think it gonna be much cheaper after few weeks/month since release. And it would be good to wait for same first tests and choose which (Q9300/Q9450/Q9550) is most profitable.

And at least answer if you wanna overclock, cuz you can take some cheaper RAM if not.

Icecube > 9600 is already released, efficiency is between 8600GTS and 8800GT (8800GT is better), and 9600 is cheaper than 8800GT so i think it won't affect 8800GT price.

imo now is good time to buy new pc. no real big changes will come in near future as i know.
anyways atm i can get a good pc with the things that i wrote in first thread with < 500euro.

is there an intel cpu that is as cheap as amd athlon x2 5400+ 2,8Ghz and brings same power? i didn't find one.
