Hello,All!!Congratz to me on my first post!! Big grin
Sorry,my first post is so lame and stupid,but I just recently started playing E+ and while I love it,there are a lot of issues I'm having with my cfg's.While that's not why I'm posting,it prompts me to seek you guys' help on getting my E+ to play in single player(while lame and mostly pointless,my comp is old and slow and I'd like a way to test my cfg changes without having to join an online server each time I make a change.

With that said,I've tried using the default shortcut<"C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\xp_singleplayer.bat"> as well as using the "../quake3.exe +set fs_game excessiveplus" cmd line.
Also,by selecting mods after installing the newer version 1.03,as well as using an older version i found v. 1.02a.All of which boot me back to the Quake main page.Have uninstalled/reinstalled Quake and ExPlus,both.
All I have tried have ended in similar fashion.

Any suggestions or comments (minus the jeering :twisted: for the semi-lame/fully-lame request) would be greatly appreciated :!:

could this possibly because the menu that loads up when u start excessive plus is exactly the same as the menu when u start baseq3? Happy

ps: u realize ofcourse that all the self-serving comments on how its ur first post and how lame it is, is only gonna draw attention to the fact right? Big grin

I think that is what IS happening.So how do I distinguish the two.IOW,how do I get the menu to load excessive plus and NOT the baseq3 menu.Or what is it that i need to do to make that NOT happen?

So,I guess my question is how do I get the E+ Menu to load and not the baseq3 menu Thinking:

Also,to be clear Excessive Plus IS capable of being played in single player,correct Thinking:

BTW,I've read some posts were ppl were not so kind to ppl and their first posts,mocking them along the way.I know everyone is not like that,but for those who are,I just figured I'd save them the trouble Winking

e+ can be distunguished by the console.

in vq3 its red while in e+ its transparent.

if you wanna play "singleplayer" you will have to make a private server.

you cant play e+ in singleplayer style like you do vq3 (go through alll the tiers etc).

to make the server you will need the following:

a bat file that runs the e+ mod and loads the server config.
a server config
a map rotation file
a weapon config

i included all of that for you in the .rar file.

running plus_ffa_nondedicated.bat will start a ffa game with plus config
running nh_ffa_nondedicated.bat will start a ffa game with nh config

when map loads just add bots and have fun Smug

p.s. make sure you extract the files with the directory structure intact.

bat files go into your q3 directory
server files go to your quake3/excessiveplus directory
weapon configs go to your quake3/excessiveplus/conf directory

weapon configs are 1.03.

I am proud of spreading a pirated Excessive Plus version and claim to be the original author, yay!

its no problem Happy

in case you want a different gametype, you can change the server config. for different map rotation change the map list in map config.

you can also get other configs from different locations arround here and try them out by setting them inside server config.

have fun!
