Lot of text about the lies of the government and news - nobody speak with you about this and everybody knows that they lie so your speech is totally pointless, and their lie even less then religion is, atleast they have a small amount of truth (3-5 soldiers instead of 50 - 8-10 % of truth, more then in religion anyway). How do you equalize even indirect facts with miracles and beliefs? So i can say that Greeks myths are also true?

There are a lot of stuff that cant be explained at this moment, for example creation of some Pyramids - people didnt have the technology to build this, there are a lot of facts that someone else build or helped us to build and still people accept this like a theory, because they arent 100 percent sure. Religion have 0 facts of the miracles and God existence - and somehow people think thats its not a theory but true. Even evolution from monkeys more believeble then religion theory of creating human kind, and about 2012 - there were a lot of same predictions before ... and all the time fail, always can happen some shit like aliens invade or huge flash on the sun and etc, your own beliefs arent bad if they help you to go through some hard moments, but religion is other story - unite and control thats the goal.

I think you missed some of the topics mad and I discussed. He said we beat our women "heavily." So I tried to explain that if he read somewhere in a particular paper that a dude from the Muslim world tied his wife to a leash, it doesn't mean it's true. And even if it's true, it would be a rare incident committed by a fanatic dude. I don't like being judged by "Western" people. I hope you understand. When someone from Europe ask me where I'm from, and I say "Jordan," I feel upset that these ideas randomly pop into their head, ok? That's what I'm trying to accomplish here. This isn't the same as racism (white dude calls a black dude a "nigger"). But it's just as bad, and it makes me feel sad because they're ignorant. You people think we Mid-Easterns think inside a tiny box, but when I see how some Westerners think, I piss myself laughing too.

I hope you understand what I say. I am sorry if I offended any Christians or Jews here. Go ahead, people. Get back to believing what you want.

Thank you.

How do you know God doesn't exist? Have you actually gone up there where more than half of the world's population think God exists and saw that nothing was there? Interesting, cuz not all people think the concept of God is dumb, and you sound like a lot of people who talk the same shit "believe in fairy tales...etc."

I know, because the existence of a god is impossible. I know, because there is absolutely no proof of the existence of a god. I know, because i know logic, and logic is not compatible with religion.

James wrote:

No. I don't need you to tell me to read because I know when to read about whichever subject I want. And if you think I'm uneducated on these subjects, then why don't you read up on them and give me a brief summary, huh? You really make me piss myself laughing.

Later in the post you say you don't consider me a reliable source, so what would be the point? There are books, there are papers, there are videos. If you're interested in the subjects, educate yourself on them. If you don't want to, stop talking about things you understand only by the vaguest of definitions.

Oops, who's mad now? xD not wise talk, my friend. And you can never prove your point.

It's in the nickname. And i suppose not, at least not to you.

James wrote:

Here, you're actually contradicting yourself. No comment.

Contradict how? By pointing out you ignore the point of my argument? Because the point was that law is law, and religion is religion. Divine punishment is a concept which one may, or may not believe. It's not a reliable or functional way to stop people from committing crime, in fact, no such way exists.

I didn't say we were living in a fictional little Utopia. I was comparing the two communities, and if we exclude the uprisings and revolutions that happened in 2011-presnt, we will see that the estimates are rather lower than anywhere else in the world. I say we exclude the uprisings because these things happen anywhere in the world, and they don't necessarily happen because religion has bad influences. And the brilliant point here is that "the good book" did not say these things cannot happen. Maybe, again, you should go educate yourself.

And i was pointing out your comparison is wrong and biased. I used the book reference in the context of you saying it prohibits people from killing each other. Doesn't seem to work that well, does it? There's strife and shit everywhere in the world, but it would seem in your part of the world there's a tad more of it. And a lot of it is religiously fuelled (Israel/Palestina, to not look far).

Dude, drunk husbands in Poland don't beat their wives? Don't talk to me about a problem in a society. This has nothing to do with religion. Religion tries to solve these problems, and people choose to follow its rules or not. I hate discrimination against women too, and that shit exists everywhere in the world. And btw, how do you assume people here beat their women heavily? Just cuz a certain paper or the media show one incident, suddenly everyone here is so keen on that shit? Why don't you come here and make a research, if you're all about facts and tangible evidences? And, all of a sudden, you're all about women's rights and fighting for them lol. From your looks, I don't think you care about women at all.

Drunk husbands do indeed beat their wives all over the world, the difference is that only in Islam the husband is legally allowed to do it. How can you glorify a society where that is possible? Discrimination and various human right impediments are a major concern of mine when it comes to Islam as a whole.

I don't need to answer all your questions. I try my best to answer some of it. You should do the rest, go surf the net or do whatever you like. At least try to answer some of my questions too.

You're making claims. Back them up or stop making them.

James wrote:

I know because you said in the previous post "But i can agree with one thing...." So, you quoted the parts you didn't agree with and then changed your mind and agreed with one of them? OK. Because you think it would result in stopping the killings that Muslims commit against people like you? LOL. Another misconception and false stereotype. I don't reject information. I <3 information, but from a valuable source, not from you. And I said you wouldn't change my mind because I have experience. I am not just some brainwashed kid Happy

No, i meant out of the things i first quoted. Obviously. Yeah, you have experience, in being a bigoted, small-minded prick. Congratulations. You're exactly like you're trying to picture me - without actually knowing me.

and chose to continue this pathetic little charade because I think we could learn from each other (we're from different cultures). You get all your information from the media, and I am sure as hell you never read a valuable book about the Islamic culture or any other culture you might learn from, because your brain tells you these cultures are bollocks and inferior (a misconception).

Oh good, more assumptions. Yes, i do consider religion-based cultures to be inferior to ones that separate state from religion. Religion is supposed to be personal. If it grows enough to influence the state, as shown by historical evidence, it always comes down to diminished human rights, discrimination against minorities, discouragement of science, promotion of tyranny, stunted growth of self and subjugation of values contradictory to whatever religion might be in charge of said society. Not all non-religious cultures are better than religion based, but enough are to show that it's simply the way to go if we want to achieve true progress.

I don't believe anything I read in the media because I know they manipulate things according to their needs. One example (you can choose to believe it, and you can choose not to.Not my problem): I have an Iraqi friend who lives here now. He went to Iraq in 2004 to visit some family there, and he was able to behold one of the combats that occurred between American soldiers and Iraqi noobs, ok? Iraqi noobs had weapons too, so, yeah they're people who don't give a shit with weapons. That day as much as 50 American soldiers died. When he watched the news on BBC or CNN or CBS news or whatever, they mentioned that only 3 American soldiers had died. Don't tell me this story is bollocks because I agreed with him because I used to watch news back then and the number of American soldiers that died every time was either 3,4,5... bla bla. So I decided not to watch the news at all, or read the paper, because it's all a waste of time.

Yeah, the media manipulate facts. What does that have to do with anything we're talking about?

James wrote:

Let's discuss the uprisings in Arab countries that you're so fond of and bring examples from because you're so considerate. The UN decides to help the people of Libya because they're governed by a tyrant (Qaddafi)? Why don't the UN help the Syrians? They're governed by a tyrant as well. Hmmmmm..... UN: "there's oil in Libya Ok, we'll pretend that we're going to help them and steal as much oil as possible." UN: "Syria? LOL there are no natural resources in Syria, who gives a fock about them? Let them go to hell."

Yeah, sure. Of course they're going to favour a region with potential interest over a region to promises no returns for it. What, you think the world is run by a bunch of philanthropist? Get real, it's all shit.

Another point, why won't your peace loving, rich as holy fuck rulers not help the poor Syrians? Or other nations that are being ruled by tyrants in your region? Oh yeah, because they are those very same tyrants. Because the best you've come to anything resembling a rule of the people is a monarchy.

So, your civilized law that you're so proud of is fake and inconsiderate and it might decide to fuck you up one day before you know it. All they care about is money. You're so proud that you have a privilege - freedom of speech? And you think there's no freedom of speech here because if anyone talks shit gets his head cut off which seems hilarious to me and makes me piss myself laughing. I talk about anything I want the way I want, and, abracadabra, I'm still alive and my head is still on Surprise Back where we begun; religion is better than atheism, because imo all the laws that exist in the world now are way more fucked up than a simple law that existed MILLENNIA ago Happy

Wow, the biggest batch of crazy yet. Yeah, people everywhere in the world care mostly about money. Does that mean the laws here are fake? No, they are not. There are clear lines separating what i can, and what i cannot do, and if i cross those lines, i will get punished for it. Those laws are based on COMMON SENSE (mostly, at least), not the ramblings of some guy with a cool beard who lived forever ago. Hey, guess what, i can eat pork whenever i want. And my wife, if i had one, can dress how she wants, and do what she wants, and can be assured that there are measures she can take if i randomly decide to punch her in the face for no reason, because she is not inferior to me in the eyes of the law. I can open my window and shout "fuck the church" and a war will not start. And i don't have to fast every now and then because.... just because, i guess.

Laws that existed millennia ago, that's fascinating. Yeah we had all sorts of wonderful laws back then, like slavery. Or using homosexuals as kindling for criminals on pyres. Tyranny and oppression. Good times.

By the way, you seem very self-conscious about what people (me) think about you and your culture and religion. But you said you don't give a fuck. Well, don't. My opinion is my opinion. I don't see you as a worse person than myself, i'm not inherently prejudiced against any race or nation. I am prejudiced against people who want to control other people with their beliefs. That is all.

Re: Looking for the righteous path

The righteous path IS to do things only for YOURSELF. Not thinking about doing something for an entity or someone else OR doing it for this last option only if it does something for YOU.

To begin, you can read "The Theory of Moral Sentiments" or "The Wealth of Nations" from Adam Smith.
The neoliberalism economics could be really profitable for the human being. Why? Because it simply push people to produce something for someone else.

I bet your single xD

To help others is humanity.. to be an selfish assh()le is something else ^^
If you will only start helping others after them helping you first is a little sad.. 1 should start the chain reaction and not only wait for it to be activated Winking

The righteous path IS the path you choose for yourself.. and now close this damn topic cuz there is to much dogma activity here... its really annoying if someone else is trying to force her/his/its believes upon others... we are people with individuallity and a own brain.. ( not all are behaving like that ofc. but still )

On that note - who needs religion when you can have ganja? c:

And i concur, this thread was always going to end in a bullshit discussion which nobody can really win. Time to let it go to sleep.

Man, you didn't understand which concept is the "invisible hand" at all because your answer is fucking trivial. Please be a bit wise and not the fucking nerd/hippy you always are.

Let's summarise the idea :
1-If a people always help another to do something, the last one will never learn to do something alone. Its a waste.
2-If a man think about himself, he want to earn something, whatever it is, so he will produce something or create something for him ("for him" doesn't mean for his use, it means here NOT FREE, because he will sell it or trade it to earn what he want).
3-He increases by the way the ouput value, the choice people have. SO if everyone is acting like this, everyone can have MORE CHOICE and MORE GOODS because other produce a higher output ; according to this, everyone can EARN BY THEMSELVES what they WANT, and DON'T NEED HELP NO MORE to do it.

This concept can be apply to all strafa of the society. DO you understand now?

Re: Looking for the righteous path

(Beginning with "I know, because.....") - You still are not able to convince or prove your point to any religious dude regardless of their religious status, because you can't back it up with any useful information. Everything you say is based on things you heard somewhere (Not an assumption; I know because I heard your shit from other people too). I wished you'd be able to give me new useful information I never heard of. I was hoping you'd be able to convince me I should become an atheist now, but you couldn't. Because, believe me, if you could, I would definitely listen to you. I did not lock my brain when I was born, and I chose to think freely all my life. I said this topic should be discussed by scholars not by us because I know none of us is a scholar, because scholars don't have time to do their laundry, let alone write posts on E+ forums.

(Beginning with "Later......") - You're talking about Islam and your education on it is %0.0001 and you think you're smart. So, yes, I think I'm not the only one here making claims they can't back up. And you say the Big Bang Theory and Evolution are fascinating subjects without knowing them (you wouldn't give me examples how they're fascinating). I guess you're busy smoking ganja.

(Beginning with "Contradict how?") - You said earlier that you'd "rather see the motherfucker fry..." And then later, you said we should let murderers live a little, since they'll burn in hell for an indefinite time. And this is the craziest remark I've ever heard from any living person. Let a murderer live? LMAO (No offense, though. I'm not implying you're crazy Tongue).

(Beginning with "Fuck you. Door is that way. --->") - LOL? Guess madbringer isn't madbringer after all. No comment.

(Beginning with "Oh good,..........") - "as shown by historical evidence" where? In Europe? Yes. "discrimination against minorities" <--- WRONG. Maybe in Christianity, not in Islam. "discouragements of science" <--- WRONG. Not in Islam. "promotion of tyranny" <--- WRONG (I gave you an explanation earlier). See, it's hilarious.

(Beginning with "Another point...") - Because if my country decides to help or bomb the Syrian army, Iran will interfere. Then other Arab countries will interfere again, then China + Russia. Well, since they support Iran and supply them with weapons. W0000000000t, and then you got yourself a focking World War III. The UN should be the ones to stop it, because they are supposedly in control of the world. But they didn't, and the poor victims of politics are the Syrians.

(Beginning with "Wow,...") - "not the ramblings of some guy..." Not everybody believe they're ramblings, and you cannot convince anyone they're ramblings, you just heard they were, and you're repeating it here. You can't even convince me even though I want to believe they are, because it serves my purpose (I can get drunk whenever I want xD). But when I discovered how bad alcohol is for people's health, I believed the guy with the cool beard who lived 1400 years ago that alcohol damages your liver bla bla.. And I refused to believe articles written on the Internet that alcohol is good for the heart and makes you live longer (because obviously it's a commercial for alcohol industries, but in a new fashion). Also, women here have measures to take if their husbands decide to go Jet Li on them. They're called "divorce." Somehow married people work their problems their way. There are limits for these things, just saying. How women dress is none of my business, but religion wanted to solve a problem in society. There are a lot of husbands who shot their wives cuz they slept with other men and vice versa. So, if religion prohibits cheating, then all those people wouldn't have been shot Winking. And I can open my window and shout whatever the hell I want, and a war will not start. But if I shout at night when people are asleep and keep shouting, I will disturb those people, and they might decide to report me to the police. So, yes "my freedom ends when your freedom begins."

(Beginning with "By the way..") - I really really don't give a fuck. I wish you could see inside my brain to understand that. But I chose to continue this conversation because if there's anything in the world I genuinely hate, that would be a smart-ass, cuz I came across hundreds of those in my fucked-up life. A person who spends most of their time trying to talk shit and make other people feel bad doesn't deserve my respect. I respect your opinion, and I'm not trying to change it. I just want to change bad habits (no offense). You shouldn't be prejudiced against religious people because they don't want to control you, and even if they do, they can't, and you can realize that in our modern world. You do realize that the shit they say is just air coming out their mouths, don't you? How could they possibly hurt you? If a Christian old lady tells me that Jesus loves me, unlike you, I wouldn't try to convince her Jesus isn't God 3rd version. I would let the chips fall where they may. I will keep saying "yeah, yeah, you're right." And when she's off, I get back to believing what I believe. If I try to say things to her and fuck around with her brain, she might turn bad or go crazy. And I wish every single person in the world would learn this lesson, and I learned it a long time ago.
