quake3.exe --> delete this one
quake3.exe.bak --> rename to quake3.exe

but u said that u deleted the *.bak file so u must reinstal q3, or just copy the quake3.exe file from the game cd, and then install q3.pr.132 patch

nvm i just cant connect to *)Quick(*'s server i get one of three messages
reset hunk to ok, cl_parservermessage:illegible server message, or cl_parpacket"something"(i think its client): end of message
