Hey i downloaded the patch on the front page here and now i cant connect to server 67.15.19.117:27960 *)Quick(*'s sever it keeps giving me "CL_PARSEREVERMESSAGE:ILLEGIBLE SERVER MESSAGE"
can ne1 help i really would like to get on *)Quick(*'s server

yeah im too....look at the quake3 folder, there is a backup from quake3.exe...
delete quake3.exe and rename the quake3.exe.bak into quake3.exe.

i think, this patch was only needed for servers not for clients

I don't think the problem is on your end. The server was down for a few hours. Its back up now. Try your link again. Laterz Quakerz.

i had already deleted the .bak file and emptyed my recycle bin before posting my first message asking for help.

try the system restore and go back to a few days before you did it if you got XP
