try not to combine 1.03 and 2.1 either use e+ 1.03 or e+ 2.1
but not, some file from 1.03 and others from 2.1 you will get more errors then you think.
a developer should look at this
how i recommend to make an e+ instalation on linux is :
1. having q3 with 1.32 release patch installed
2. extract the content of xp-2.1.zip into the /quake3/ directory
3.try to start q3 with this :
+set fs_game excessiveplus +set vm_cgame 2 +set vm_ui 2 +exec server.cfg
or for dedicated with this:
+set fs_game excessiveplus +set vm_game 0 +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg
nothing new ..
what Os version you said you use?

it can't be fixed imo, cuz it some unusual mod bug, u may try use "rpm" linux or use another version ubuntu.

I've tried E+ 2.1 on 5(five) different OS 4 Linux distros and one Windows on this machine and it runs only on Windows.... Its not Linux distro problem as i have big server which i use for dev with Xeon processor on Debian Lenny stable that runs the q3ded E+ 2.1 with no problem...

then nothing can do with it, just wait update for next version maybe it will be fixed.
I think general problem in this *.so files (mod libraries, this is server part btw) which built with modern compiler and on modern hardware.

fuck it... I've configured Xen virtual machine with Debian on my "big" server and I can now run q3ded inside it... No stress and worrying about security just single 2GB file containing the guest OS and q3. This method is the most "secure" since q3ded runs on "different" machine and if someone "hack" it he wont find anything there, chroot is also secure but can't be compared with VM. I recommend running q3ded on virtual machine even on dedicated machines...

works well on debian lenny
in older times i even run on mint (ubuntu/debian based distro) on celeronII(or p2..hmn) e+ server.. no probs

(: I'm not mixing E+ versions you can have all E+ versions on one server just in different folders
i got /quake3/excessiveplus which is (2.1) and /quake3/excessiveplus1.03 and i can start them with +set fs_game excessiveplus or +set fs_game excessiveplus1.03 BUT only 1.03 runs, 2.1 crashes...
The server runs Debian Lenny (stable).
I tested this on Debian Lenny, Ubuntu 10.10 server, Slackware on this machine which is Dell GX115 P3 800MHz with 512MB SDRAM 133MHz and 50G free HDD and E+ CRASHES. I also tested on Win 2k3 Server 1.32c with E+ 2.1 and guess what? IT RUNS ON WINDOWS on the same machine.... So what else can i do?
Illegal Instruction... how its legal on Windows then?
