Automatic weapon+fire binding

Hello all,

i was wondering what the command is for automatically choose a weapon + fire..

i knew in QW(quake 1) it was:

bind x "impulse 6;+attack''wait_command(forgotten);-attack"

now in Quake 3 i cant get any further than this:

bind x "weapon 4;+attack.....

offcourse it needs a -attack command, but the old QW(quake 1) way wouldnt work..

so anybody knows the full command?

The result has to be:

CTRL = weapon 4 + 1 Fire directly, and automatically switch back to my previous weapon.

well..

im quite new to quake 3 arena, so excuse me for being retarded

whats the deal about that kind of binding?

doesnt look like some cheat at all in my opinion, and it is used anyways..

it also doesnt bother me that i make NL look stupid, because quake 3 arena sucks in compare with the good old QuakeWorld

Yeah, great game it is, QW, i'll agree with that. But if you think Q3 sucks, maybe you should go back to QW? There still are people playing it.

And it's not you who's retarded, it's that binding. I'm a firm believer in one's usage of skills only, as most people here, i think. Why not just assign each weapon to a different key, like the rest of us does? Switch spam=whee, k. Switch spam using lame binds=noobzorz.

Well QW is as good as dead..

But i didnt know binding in q3 was lame and noob and cheating etc..

i stopped playing qw some years a go (there those scripts was not a big deal at all, as i can remember), never gamed again.. now i try quake3 for three days, but im not already into all the new shizzle arround here..

so binding is gay in q3

Binds aren't gay, man. lol. Scripts, which provide you with an unfair advantege over fellow gamers, are. While they don't really make a great difference on high switch time servers like MR. ftag, but on other, which have significantly lower switch time, they really make a huge one. I've seen myself how much they can affect one's gameplay.

So don't feel uneasy and discouraged, just play fair.

You sure you know each configs on e+ ? cauz i know many people who tryed/ask me /were interested in/were using weapons scripts around excessiveplus community. I think it's lame but till pure and pb does not kick you for that it's allowed
