About GFX drivers

I have problems with foreceware drivers. NONE of the newer 17x.xx drivers works. Im using driver cleaner pro in safemode and bla bla bla to remove the old drivers but when i finally have installed the new ones my screen turns black and into powersaving mode when i login to windows. Only driver that works is the one from the disc that came with the videocard. wft?
Maybe i should try these NGO drivers? or omega? what do u think?

its a xfx 8800gtx.

Try NGO. And try some older versions as well.
