I use 100 with monitor 17 inch LCD 4:3 and 1280x1024.

I think Fov depends in how far your eyes can see. For example me, i cant see far and sometimes i use zoom coz i was having problem in my eyes before 10 years. So my eyes need at least 24 inch monitor to change my fov to 130.

Real life is more important then Virtual life

edit: never used and never will use +zoom, this is not fair imo

i use cg_fov 125 on my 24" monitor,resolution 1920X1200
