If there comes a new release, it would be nice if there could be an hosts-file instalation msi (or something) to make this for all E+ players, also beginners (if you automate it).

This could make it available for newcommers again.

With that change you did in hosts, you linked 188.72.250.61 directly to master.quake3arena.com.

DNS translation has not to be done, because most likely master.quake3arena.com is not in the DNS tables anymore.

ok i get it Winking so we lost maaaaaaaaany servers durring few months. thx for quick anserw Thor and i invite all to use it. it realy helps and works for sure Happy

I had the same problem here (since dec 6 no games showing master server down), but solved it much easyer and more reliable by:

-Using ioQuake 3 1.36 and putting in the cfg the followingseta sv_master5 ""seta sv_master4 ""seta sv_master3 ""seta sv_master2 ""seta sv_master1 "188.72.250.61"
(empty out all masterservers and specifying the ip adress of de E+ masterserver under number 1)
Now ALL E+ games show ingame in notime
