xp_name is read only

hullo!

i have a little problem: when i join a game my name is always switched to UnnamedPlayer...!!!!

and when i try to use the command seta xp_name XXXXX it says "xp_name is read only"

i tried everything but cant fix this bug!!!!

anyone could help me plz???

I'm pretty sure you haven't the last version of e+ or have mixed pk3s from different versions

Create textfile (fx open notepad)
type:
seta xp_name "YOUR NAME"

save file as YOURFILENAME.cfg

In Q3 e+ mod:
type in console ->
/exec YOURFILENAME

Voila!

U still gett an error iff u copy and paste your name at xp_name
iff u do this manuall search for the --> cg_name there copy and paste the name in the CFG

USE always the cg_name NOT the xp_name <--- Just forgett that one

Then why xp_name not removed from new version?

errors happens not always.
Only if you use incorrect encoded glyphs and/or glyphs which is cfg operators (spaces, partially punctuation, reserved words).

HOWEVER, names encoded with font map table do not return any errors.
But resonable question: cg_name have support of fancy font map?

lol, check my sig, I made a whole tool based on xp_name that supports older version conversion (name) and u say forget about Tongue

xp_name was readonly during a beta version of 1.04 then became active again, that's why I suppose this guy had mixed versions or older beta one.
