i installed XP after win7 also and just runned win7 disk again and there was a fix boot as a repair option.

just write "fixmbr" in the repair console from ur windows cd

there also is good software to handle this problem,
i'm using it and it does a good job.

only think i had to do was compatibility mode to win xp sp3 and run as admin.
