Lithuania Hi,
does this web have some introducing page or not,
how will some newcomers (well say some people passing bye) know what about is this website ?
how do they know at all what is eplus at all ?
i do not see any related info to quake3 too !
i say lets think how to fix this

yes nice idea, it would be nice if it would be possible to make a welcome screen before entering the "forum homepage" with a movie from e+ which would have skip option so that all the people that are using forum daily and aren't new to this mod wouldn't get annoyed by the constant "meet the e+" movie/page...
I know it's easy to talk about do this do that, but this is really nice idea, many people that first see this forum may find this a closed community and the appearance of this forum not appealing.
dumbest example would be just adding some picture from ingame action to background but not in full color...

good idea about the movie, but if someone dont want to see it again just make a button 'Dont show me this again'

i cant see one... so how should someone see/know that this is a mod of the quake 3 game?!

To the sorrow, UrT alike welcome concept is not suitable for e+ at all, because we can not say 'download, install, play'. We can not offer the whole game to download so we have to catch people who have already got the original quake3. E+ needs some another advertising way...

e+ is a great mod, especially with 2.1 now, it just needs to be more known.
when i showed e+ my friends a few years ago, they really liked it and i even played some funwars with them. and same it will be with alot of other people who know that this mod even exists.
the big question is how to make the people try it out. i think we have to be active on each big community site like youtube, twitter, facebook, wikipedia and big modding sites AND quake 3 related pages. we must also point out that the mod already exists a few years and has a great community standing behind it and organising tournaments, ranking and other events AND that the mod gets still developed further.

Yes, ideas are fine, and even about that "dont show" it can be at personal setings to turn off welcoming page if needet.
But, history of eplus is long enough to show it too since 2004 ! Thats says for newcomers this isnt a new thing this is old and still alive thing that means - real thing.
And anyway then i look too this site i cant say that this is quake3 mod site
well there is only onw section download section that says "excessiveplus for wuake3, and for openaarena"
Maybe not page it can bee small banner near by eplus logo, or some logos of q3 open arena linux windows, that how it can atract som atention cause mod can be aplyed to multiple systems too.. Btw this site is also not only community its main devs meeting place - to anounce eplus.
