Course it will work fine, but your pc will limit its potential. Too be honest you don’t have much choice a gt600 or maybe x700 is about as high as you need go. you won’t see many if any more fps if you go to anything with higher clock speed.
Buy it and bung it in you just know its going to improve things Happy its just you will have to live knowing your card would be willing you to drive it harder Happy

agp is bridge betwen gpu and cpu/ram and limits transfer betwen these parts, and yeap these new vga's have iven 4 time more badwitch but betwen gpu to ram on vga pcb...... and they not need agp to do that at all...

X1800XT have 48GB/s badwitch
7800GTX have 38GB/s badwitch
AGPx8 have 2.1GB/s badwitch
PCIX x4 have 2GB/s badwitch
PCIX x16 have 8GB/s badwitch

PCIX x16 is usfule when we area talking about mass storage server/workstation where pluged ethernal adapter can use that badwitch and old PCI limit it only to 133MB/s

puting vga witch suport agp x8 to motherboard witch suport only agp x4, vga will run on agp x4 couse that is max suported speed by mobo

AGPx8 and PCIX x16 its just marketing we dont need these standards atm at all.............

u should care more about yors cpu and ram,

game will load texture to yours pc ram and if it will not be inaf amount of it it couse data will be cached on hhd and that caouse slideshow Winking

cpu of yors pc will count psyhics of objets and poligons witch will be fit using vga if power of cpu will not be inaf no meter how good vga u ben have it will be run damn slow, btw q4 will not run o cpu wich is not suporting SSE extension

what cpu u have motherboard and ram ?

I need a new graphics card I don''t want to see my standard thing that came with the computer sucks, im surprised it actually plays quake 3 to tell the truth...

I have a 1.4GHz pentium 4 dell 8100, i know i cant play q4, i just want to play doom3, i also have 128mb of rambus ram Happy, i might get 512mb

hmm would you suggest getting a new videocard and a 500w powersupply, or just the powersupply and maybe 512mb of ram, or the powersupply, maybe ram, and a FX5500?

Doom3 and quake4 are the same game engine...though q4 seems easier to run but there is nothing in it.

lol man forget it!!

i have a notebook with radeon 9700 128mb, 1gb ram, centrino 1.6 ghz -
q4 sux totaly !!! i run agp 4x and set all to low in q4 and under winows to power execpt to quality ... i get max 30 frames (when an enemy in there, when i shot all goes down to 15-19 fps ) - the gamefun is lost!

the 2.0 ghz u need really!!!
