VLC Player and you dont need a codec packs...
Power DVD 7...

22.03.05 - 09.04.05 "GenX"

allplayer, media player clasic with K-lite codec pack and i never had problems with movies

Cinemaplayer, with good codec pack it reads everything. Preaviously I used VLC for x264 HD moovies, but with ffdshow and matroska splitter cinemaplayer also reads it (besides VLC started to crash on my comp).
