I don't want to be seen so 'smarty' nowadays :roll: , by posting to your topics; but 1st I had a thought of trying to install new/other drivers for the soundcard. I use Creative too (SB0220); it can make really sens if you change the drivers - maybe it can work to you too.
Other hand, I found some new parameters to supplement yours (check sound.cfg). I think the shortys of the commands are syllogistic, if you want to test out for personal values.
