I noticed that in window mode q3 takes a lot less cpu usage then in fullscreen (29% fullscr and 8% windowed for me). Check it by pressing Alt+Enter.

I have the enemy flag!

* lectorgc_ rolls the dice 2 times ⚅ ⚅ and gets 12

Try installing directx 9.0c

didnt help, even after restart only 4 extensions like bevore.

i installed this: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/directx.html

96mb directx 9 full package

I think you need to wait for new Catalyst, because this one might be not fully backward-compatibile yet.

Usually that is a result of PB, or graphic drivers.

I propose first trying to disable PB completely, and 2, downgrade to a previous Catalyst driver. It is probably an OpenGL problem with the new 10.10 catalyst, or a faulty install. Also, you are running a new 6000 series card from what I understand, there is surely some incompatibility going on. It has nothing to do with with the processor from what I can gather from the situation. I would also suggest seeing what happens in other games, such as a new gen game, and IOquake to further test the situation and get some more information with compatibility.
