My clan member has problem with upload his pb client, when he try to update it by pbweb.exe there is something like that (look img):

Try to update with pbsetup.exe http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

edit: if this not work, try to send your clan member youre pb folder...

if you have anything clean and can play on pb servers you can give him your pb folder, but i think its not the best solve for that problem, maybe he has firewall blocking update process ? ... i would look for that stuff first cause it seems like the prog cant reach the server where it wants to dl the files, say him he should turn off windows firewall or other fw if he has.

The pbsetup.exe is a 100% working tool for updating your punkbusterclient and server Happy ... btw the pbsetup.exe is no dosconsole program and you're sure that there the same error occours ? :-k

I have the same problem with pb, I reinstaled q3, pointrelease, and disable antywirus. When I using pbsetup.exe it informing me pb is latest version. I cant play on tournament when is pb on, because always pb writes me 'update pb' and turn to spect. When I play on TAG (pb on) I have ping 250 and packets lost 50-60 %. And I can to play, but with strong lags.
When I play on servers without pb on, I've ping normal and packets lost 0 %

ok, I used pbweb.exe and i is good now, I have no problem with pb,
ealier I was using pbsetup.exe and command /pb_sv_update
