Some thoughts from me:

In fw/cws I absolutly love powerups and they are working great! Its pretty intressting to get the powerup and capitalize on them as a team, this ofc provides good challenge for teamplay coordination. (Get a russian player who spams bs coming up in 30 sec, it really helps Tongue )

For public gameplay - I want powerups, but would like to see tweaks with reduced powerups - Harder to stackup for an example. Mayby another xp_freezestyle setting with a bit more soft approach can be good. But in reality, I can play any setting - Would just have to adapt.

Finally a reply to orby:
Ranking have always accepted any plus/bro-style cfg, I doubt that will change. For tournaments, its up to creators to pick what cfg he/she wants to use. I hope more people will get involved and create more tournaments (That way they can play the cfg they want.!) Happy

After weeks of playing on PlusN now I have what I can think of as my only useful input. I've seen the arguments about powerups and I don't think I can contribute by doing anything but voting. I like powerups. Battle Suit is good, Quad is okay, armor and health are good. It would be nice to see the battle suit take splash damage, however, that's my only complaint with it.

I think the main problem with this cfg is BFG grenade splash damage, anticamp radius, and... that's about it. I think anticamp radius should be more like 350 (a person must move at least 1 full second away from area camped to get selfdamage to stop - would prefer slightly higher but would probably damage gameplay overall) - with g_speed 350 it seems fair.

The BFG has 0 damage for itself and 0 splash damage for itself, however the grenade damage is 200 and grenade splash damage is 200. This is INSANE. Playing on public games a lot I notice that I die by BFG as much as or more than I die by rail, even with players who are skilled with rail. This should not be the case. The occasional luck-spam kill with BFG around a corner when you're not certain someone is there but it turns out they are - that's ok, but when it happens EVERY TIME YOU SPAWN it is SO ANNOYING.

I propose anticamp radius 350 and for BFG, grenade damage 100 with grenade splash damage 150. I think that's more than balanced, it's quite fair and enables BFG to be useful without being such a monster weapon. Oh, and for BS to take splash damage (let's say 0.16, as BS direct damage is 0.33), that would be nice too.

And take out the gay promode style weapon switch option, some people don't know how to configure it either and it's terrible for weapons with nearly unlimited ammo. That style of switch is great if you must pick up weapons, but when you start with all weapons and will almost never run out of ammo that switch style has an unnatural rhythm. It just encourages spamming because people aren't used to the delay - they just hit weapon keys and fire over and over. I've diagnosed this recently watching the difference in gameplay with different weaponstyles.

Powerups are part of this game like any other thing, like mg spam, camp place, spawn kills and evol wax, i think its stupid to elminate them..but i also think they are too strong right now..maybe we just have to find the right effect on game they shall have
i vote make them more weak.

Mostly because of massive spamming. Such a massive spam i havent seen since 2005 in E+.In fact i die by spam in 2 times more than by rail there. if iam killing by rail, i prefer to be killed by rail too
if iam killing without powerups, i prefer to be killed by player without powerups.
That is called fair play.
Why enemy should have better advantage to kill u? Dont say moving should be rewarded, because all ppl moving around the map, like they did 2-3 years ago with no difference. Powerups doesnt affect to it.

Anyway, isnt it enought that bs protect u from spam (bfg, grenades. rocket...)? It shouldnt protect u against rail. Rail should kill always with 1 shoot. And healths should only fill up yr health to the same amount as with u was spawned since health auto retore were removed. Also after round ends all powerups should be reseted. Otherwise soon only "fag" crowd will be playing alone on server with killstreaks 25 (as mnc sayd), not letting average players to have fun.

And fala u still not answered to my questions

Believe me it isnt about the cfg, its because of players, there is a lot of skilled players but the larger group are those 'spammers' or how you want to call them, that first shot from bfg then rail or other weapon.

powerups are not part of e+ imo.

personally i was already annoyed of the powerups in 1.03, eg. quad damage. was just annoying and lame if someone machineguns you with qd ~~ i also think that powerups just have to less effect in e+, because nearly all weapons kill you instantly on hit, doesnt really matter if you have 10 live or 200. the risk getting shot while searching for powerups is to high imo

How u can speak of E+ as whole mod? It is obvios, that nearly anything u can imagine is part of E+ as "mod"
