People have several reasons to fakenick, even if i do not understand the most of them, like "bad day" or similiar. Everybody has bad days etc ..., i highly understand people who just want to have a quiet game with out beeing forced to chat permanently.

Excellent post Mow Only when I understand someone who use fake nick is when he haven't time or not in the mood to chat with anybody, so he wanna only play... That is OK in my eyes. But never then less he will have troubles with newbe people because they will call him cheater etc.

But you can imagine even worse scenario when you play as for example me always with my TAG and that fake nicker know that I haven't rcon on that server and start to telling me shit... That really piss me off, he know that I don't know who he are and from some reasons he constantly talking shits, "You noob..." ble, ble... Anyway I play average 15 minutes per day, even less.... So, to play with max. I have to play at least 2 maps and then I can play with 90% of my abilities... So, in rare cases I play with my best.... Always some asshole spoil my playing, drawback is that I play less and less and less... Specially when I have a little time to spend on playing, I wanna pure fight and haven't that precious time spending on some idiots... which literally living on servers... What really annoying me no matter it is game and all is about game disrespect opponents no matter how he play and how pour play opponent, also measuring people by skill only... Somebody can be really SKILLED but also BIG ASSHOLE, I will always have greater respect to noob or average player with sane attitude...

Wish people would just take a moment to think why they fakenick though. The above reason is perfectly fine, though it would be great if people were more creative than "n00b", "blabla" or "lol". Mostly since those nicking "blabla" and "lol" are the ones who like to talk and whine a lot, and the ones most keen on nicking "n00b" usually are well above average and it's kinda taking the piss for most people. I'd be a bad server admin in many ways, one includes kicking anyone nicking n00b and clearly not being one

Nobody cares if you are listening to mp3's, it's your own choice. Also, most people say they actually ALWAYS listen to mp3's in public (and some even in wars). So, if that's your standard, why the hell even mention it... It's funny to see many of those people hear people better than I do without mp3's anyway. Can't be THAT horribly disturbing then... Personally my skill level drops like mad when I turn music on and I usually don't, but I don't shove it down peoples' throats... If the outcome is bad and I think it would be different without music and wish to confirm this... I turn it off. Whoa.

@sense is starting to annoy the shit out of me. It was kind of amusing when I only saw Hard doing it and how (far overboard) obsessed he is with it, but I see every wannabe doing it now. Hey guys, know what - this is also your choice, and nobody REALLY cares. Again, most of you seem to change sensitivity (and a million other things in your cfg...) several times / week so it's not fucking worth mentioning especially since you're clearly never ever going to find "it". You're not at disadvantage in any way.

Tired... Not super horrible, but really... If you're so tired that it's affecting you, it's obvious anyway. Some times when I'm playing half-dead I just completely change my aiming style instead to some kind of slow motion bot wannabe. Very relaxing, and speaks for itself.

So really. In my opinion, if you genuinely care about maybe playing bad, atleast fakenick for real or you just look like morons/cowards if you still play good.

As for people being dicks and chatting, you have no obligation to reply or care what anyone but the server admin/s/ say. I've had my great wars of vocabulary with some of the e-thugs and keyboard warriors out there and I've steeped pretty low myself when pushed enough (mainly in a certain CTF server), but lately I guess I just found out that I actually do enjoy playing more than the word battles and if normal playing is impossible it's highly likely that there still is something else better to do. Try never saying anything but a rare gg (and perhaps sorry if you mess up royally in a teamgame), works wonders on most servers

Hypocrisy coming from me of all people? Yeah, but I'm typing on a forum which is made for typing and not in-game which is atleast mainly made for gaming, and also write this (and the earlier T.i.f.s drama) from work where there clearly is nothing better to do. Ha!

Shoutout to Wax, thanks yesterday and people, learn from him. If some one is fakenicking and not talking, but you still know (or have a strong clue) who it might be, please do take that one second of thinking it might take to figure out that he/she may wish to be anonymous and don't scream "HI [name]!!!!!", translated to nothing but "oh god i'm so good i know who it is, i must touch myself" as that is fucking annoying. The sole reason I stopped using xfire back in the days when you couldn't block people from seeing what server you were playing on.

If you really want to know if it's the right person, /tell is your friend. If the person does not reply, he is not your friend. Atleast not right then. And on a related note, which I find to be a logic people don't seem to share - if you ask a fakenicker who he is... How about you, if you fakenick yourself, reveal your identity first? Like, I'll gladly tell most people I know who I am, but I'm NEVER telling another fakenicker. Ever. And I'm not asking back either, because mostly I honestly don't care and probably am slightly pissed that they weren't clever enough to say who they were first.

Its every individuals "right" to choose whatever name he or she wants. If he wants to call himself a Noob, well why should anyone else care?

You have to remember that you cant change anyone else, but yourself. If people annoy you by being stupid and abusive - what can you do ? Go through the i -net and smash a bottle on his head?? unfortunately no you cant..
What you CAN do is think - Stupid Bastard - and use Cl_noprint 1 or some of the other options available.

You cant NEVER straighten a dogs tail, you can only chop it off .

Simple rules for people who want to Fake nick. Maybe the server admins should implement this as rules of playing on any public server.

1. Please dont let the name be offensive
2. Dont think that being incognito gives you the right to be abusive

Its as simple as that. If you cant follow that - you get banned.

I get particularly annoyed at players who when they are quite obviously playing well and maybe 30 percent higher in game score saying things like
"I cant hit today" and "god I play crap today" etc its insulting to everyone playing... the peeople that do it are usualy well know for being good players anyway.

This is not the same as players who have connection problems and issues that actually effect their play and spend most of the time losing when they know they can play a lot better

hmm also players that lose a team map but get the most frags, saying bahh I had a shit team,

ego is a caged beast. Feed it but don’t let it out too often, imo it bites mainly the keeper.
