I had the same problem in the past and solved it with r_ignorehwgamma "1"
After this,everything is a lil bit darker so i used r_intensity "1.9" and
r_overBrightBits "1.9" to get it brighter.
Maybe this helps.

Monkey, I'm pretty sure he means the dark textures and the lines that are there on the walls which are not supposed to be there. Hyde might have problems of explaining himself in english, but I'm sure he knows what r_picmip does. I think the answer to him has already been given, too bad he doesn't confirm whether it helped or not.

i think problem is that he uses bad lighting for high picmip. Switch to vertex lighting method and it will look better
