I got this card a few days ago and played Q3 and other games on it. It was awesome Big grin 300+ fps possible in Q3 (NoGhost), baseq3 was lol fast, E+ was fast.

I updated drivers to newest version and it overwrote my old application settings for Q3. Can someone tell me what the best settings are for E+ / Q3 both for NVidia control panel and for q3 config? I suspect I may be able to get my fps back without losing image quality Chatterbox

Other stats are

2.8gHz P4
512MB DDR2 RAM
XP SP3

My system is very fast, no background programs, blah blah blah. I just need the right NVidia settings and config settings Big grin

Damn, I dunno what it is about those settings but they must be close to what I had before, because I'm able to get above 125 fps again with r_picmip 0 and maximum texture quality, etc. Last night was terrible after I got driver updates, I was sticking between 50 and 60 fps, even with low-quality everything and all command variables I could think of!

I wish I could get back up to 333 fps for NoGhost like I was before but for some reason that's still not happening. If anyone has any ideas why this might be I'm open to suggestion, but otherwise I'm going to lock the topic in a few days and move on...

check if you have not enabled v-sync (vertical synchronization). It locks fps on your card to value you have selected like vertical refresh rate on your monitor. For example if you have monitor with 1024x768x32@75Hz and enabled v-sync, your FPS in game/benchmark will be limited by 75FPS

That was one of the first things I checked Winking I'd like to be able to get higher fps but for now this'll do. I dunno why I can't get super-high rates like I was before...

1.) you were too blazed the night you got the high FPS
2.) go to the nvidia site and have nvidia auto-find your drivers for the card, uninstall your current drivers, reboot, install the new drivers, reboot

if you have the latest they offer, it could have been a bad install

New drivers for old or low-end videocards often suxx  I know it due to my own experience. At least for me it helped once (to install more old drivers).

Yeah, but this isn't an old video card, I think the GeForce 8 series started in 2007 Thinking Anyway, compared to this game's minimum requirements the card is so far above par it's not even funny, I don't know why it would have lower framerates from changed settings like the ones I got sorted thanks to Beazt. It doesn't make sense. And yeah, I might've been a little wasted the night I got it, but not so much that I'd mistake 60fps for 300+ Smug
