Hi. I have strange problem with gamma in q3.
I've changed computer from PC to new laptop with Vista inside.
At laptop when i am launching q3 there is more darker gamma than normal. When I am going to change it in quake by Setup->System->Display: Brightness that nothing is changing. I've checked console and there is writed:
'SetDeviceGammaRamp failed'
When i am trying to make higher brightness than after many tries it is going ok.
I wish to solve this problem. Someone can help?

Yep!
The problem's not in your laptop! It's on Vista! The DirectX 10Driver discards Gammalevels higher than 1
so .. in quake3e you can't set more than R_GAMMA 1
setting 1.1 results in error.

Sorry! Can't help you! I've got the same problem and there is no other drivers, older dx versions or other soft than tan help.

If your video card is ADI ... you can go to ATI CATALYST go to display and make a profile for quake3.exe with higher brightness or gamma .... that's the only one way I found to increase the brightness Confused
Vista sucks ... yeah
