I'm a bit surprised this came to pass with zero discussion about if it was needed or not. Was the anticheat system built into E+ lacking? Has there been a sudden and massive surge of cheaters?
Somehow I kind of doubt the latter. I tried to play at Freon earlier today and was forced to spec since I haven't downloaded a third party software. Come on, this is just silly.

Don't make any exceptions, I'm just questioning the general idea. I seriously doubt cheating is a massive problem around these parts. On the contrary I suspect you are shooting yourselves in the foot with this approach, a random newbie (as rare as they are) isn't gonna download some third party software just to play Quake.

that's why were taking the discord approach looking for already committed q3 players looking for an active community of q3 players in general, any mod is welcome . Right now were planning a fragfest , once details there are more solid we move the announcement here

Why not just post a solution here? Yesterday I met with exact the same issue with segfault on ArchLinux using ioquake3.

Because so far is been users fault on correct setup of quake version / pureskill, plus Pureskill has its own Discord channel specifically for client install support. You can use discord on any os.

all of the above u described , a mass of cheaters / this solves it . We turn it on and off depending on whos playing , I didn't know it was you, we can make an exception but not for long because the goal is everyone gets PS.
