Cheaters on Quake Live is because of Firefox. If Quake Live was only playable with IE, cheaters couldn't inject q3hook.dll with Firefox plugin to cheat on Quake Live.
But there is another problem in Quake Live, some noob players can call you a cheater and submit your account to be banned by ID Software without reason or proof, just because those noobs hate to lose.
