My monitor is in my sig...for gaming I would recommend CRT over LCD,reasons are simple...ghosting on LCDs isnt something u want to experience and not to mention they are mostly limited to 75 Hz,and I like to game on 120/160 Hz Winking

Btw,Hq do u know maybe did Compaq buy Hewlett Packard company,or took over their manufacturing of monitors? Because my monitor uses compaq drivers and the models are named identically the same Winking

TFT/LCD Samsung SyncMaster 930BF @ 4ms.
Works great! No visible ghosting what so ever.

I dont think TFT/LCD is that far behind CRT in performance anymore. Price might still be a factor though...

I suggest a CRT too. You can't beat there 1-3 second MS response time, Laughing .

Get you any Mitsubishi-NEC Diamondtron or Sony Trinitron. The diamondtorn are a little brighter and usually have better components than the Trinitron. They can be found on ebay for pretty cheap, though shipping cost about as much as the monitor.

These monitors are nice because they are much brighter than shadow mask CRTs since they use an aperarture grill.

THATS RIGHT B!TCH!!!

I agree CRT is better quality, but i doubt the awareness of that to players. Next to monitor, there are so much other elements that could cause delay in what kind of shape Happy

I have TFT Philips 190C. In the beginning i had huge ghosting. After help from my dear clanmembers, I managed to change videocard settings which changed everything back to CRT standards...at least close enough to exchange the big ugly CRT for a nice looking flatpanel Big grin

so TFT-quality is good enough for me, and given to you as a present...very welcome Cool

peace kx
