Got a dual setup, IBM P202 21" (1600x1200) and a Samsung SyncMaster 950p 19" (1280x1024), both good old CRTs. I only play games on the larger one. Both excellent screens, though the IBM can get rather dark (but amazing contrast, for that), and the Samsung is often a bit on the paler side. Still, they've been good to me for many years, can't complain.

I've only had the experience that my eyes get tired on LCDs.

I got that one - and I can tell you - 8ms ain't enough for Quake 3.
I changed to my LCD like 3 months ago, and its pretty mutch impossible to aim during movement. If you don't already have a feel for your mouse, you'll have a hard time with it as you won't be able to see em enemies in some situations (now, as for you Tyrant - I'm sure you have the nessesary "feel", but I guess there'll be some that don't Big grin).
I got the Samsung 913N 19" and its just no good, way too slow, greasing - at times you won't be able to distinguish walls from players, which can be a *real* pain in the ass.
After a while you'll get somehow used to it (right after I switched from CRT to LCD it was a *real* pain, couldn't see/hit shit), but even now its really hard to see something at times, especially if there's red/blue player in front of a red/blue wall for example.

I'd advise you to go for a CRT or a LCD with less ms :!)

I'm da nickless guy.
