I have a question regarding pbsv.cfg on my servers i have the following cvar checks,

PB_SV_CVAR r_gamma OUT 1.343750 // More bot detection
PB_SV_CVAR r_maxpolys OUT 1800 // More bot detection
PB_SV_CVAR r_maxpolyverts OUT 9000 // More bot detection
[/code:1]

i got the cfg from a mix of different cfgs from the net and would like to know how these cvars relate to cheats (what bots etc?) anyone know?

FINALLY SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING IN TRUE.

It's true and here's the problem many normal players and ex clan m8 know pw and ip of clan cw&wars serwer,they joined there when cw is in progress and they many times joyned to cw. Suggestion is simple clan leaders should have rcon to 3-4 clan serwers to change pw on cw time,and rechange it when cw is ended. But will to do it must take all clan leader to clean they and our servers , Thank you for ettention.

To join there as diablo is simple it need only to change one color part of tag or rechange fade on others.

So thats my suggestion,what will u do it with it ,your buisness

they dont. all 3 are gfx variables. r_gamma is gamma correction (duh). the other 2 have something to do with the way q3 draws polygons. cant find a more precise definition. but dont need one really. whoever included those in the pb cfg ought to be lynched.

Perhaps some bot uses them.

Notice the exact values of gama, nobody would use them like that. Probably some bot writter decided not to use a new cvar, since he tought noone would check actual q3 cvars... or something.

I am proud of spreading a pirated Excessive Plus version and claim to be the original author, yay!

Not that I use it myself, but isn't there a gamma/brightness slider in the menu that would cause that?

Just like how the sensitivity is "2.52466277" or something in many cfg's, I mean come on. Not even Hard the unofficial king of sensitivity-obsession is that overkill.

HOWEVER yeah the thought is good elsewise, lots of cheats in SoF2 used commands you'd never normally touch, but that was on the other hand of course for that reason.

What i meant was, only that particular value of gamma is banned by that pb config. Not a range of gama or somthing. So i would assume some bot really does use that particular gama value.

I am proud of spreading a pirated Excessive Plus version and claim to be the original author, yay!

well the problem is if there bots using that gamma... we have to limit every other cvar to some particular value...
anyways i think its quite stupid building a bot on such a gamma... wouldnt it be much more effektive in hiding it if u use just r_gamma 1.2 (or something like that) for the bot?

interesting is too, that on that website cg_shadows has to be out 2... but it can be also 3...

wasnt shadows limited to 2 on actual pb.cfg even after i said shadows 3 aint bugged?

Eh, I don't think Will cheats. He aims just like Mr. Gauntlet on Nightmare, and I've played and beaten both (that is, Mr. Gauntlet on Nightmare w/rail-only cfg AND Willyopticus, they're both beatable)... if Will cheats it's a pretty quick toggle on/off of autofire, because his low sens movement has always been evident... and he has an uncanny ability to know exactly where the enemy spawns all the time. He has a killer sound system (seen pics) and doesn't play with headphones much.

His English is rather limited though, so it would be hard for him to defend himself well
