Hi fellaz.
I've sold my 15" Sony CRT and i want to buy new 19" LCD with tv tuner.
I have laptop Asus X50SL with Radeon HD 3470 256mb with ATI Catalyst.

Here is probably new lcd what i want to buy:
http://www.gral.pl/preview/LG_Electronics/LG_19_cali_LCD_M198WA-BZ_DVI_5ms_czarny_TunerTV_wide_34.html

Resolution is there 1440 x 900, but i want to play in square. On laptop screen i can set it by ATI Catalyst Control Center. Will it works on lcd too?

Also I am siting bit close to monitor (0,5 - 1m). Will it not too big screen?
Fov what I was using on 15" was 110.

Is this good choose of new monitor or should i choose any other?
I need with tv tuner Happy
Please give me your opinion. :salute:

It is 5ms response, i suggest you get a lower response screen if you intend to play q3. 5ms will probably result in quite some blur on fast movements in e+.

I am proud of spreading a pirated Excessive Plus version and claim to be the original author, yay!

My experience: When i went from CRT to TFT (Wide 24" 5ms) i really decreased serious skills. Mostly caused of the delay that TFT causes.
It just feels very strange if u were used to play on CRT/

I made it playable to make my play screen 4:3 (this helps allot)
But im still in doubt of i will quit Q3 forever or not.. because for me its no fun anymore. I do notice almost every millisecond delay. Every millisecond counts in (especially) E+

TFT MADE ME SUCK Big grin

BTW i did not experience any ghosting with 5ms...

pure e5r whore

sure it will work. but 19" widescreen is small. I can recommend 22" (resolution 1680x1050)

Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite | AMD Ryzen 7 5800x (water cooled) | 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Gigabyte Radeon Rx 6800XT | Creative Audigy RX | 500GB SSD (macOS 13) + 1TB SSD (W11P) + 3TB HDD | Apple Magic Keyboard + Logitech G603

Quake will work on this resolution?
Also remember about my close distance between eyes and screen.

I'm about 50cm away from my 22" and it is still a pretty small one... guess anything below 26" is not too big for gaming.
But ofc switching from 15? year old 15" will be quite some difference Big grin I switched from 19" CRT to 19" TFT to 22" wide TFT.

the LG you suggested got 1:1000 as well... just some dynamic changing and thats why they list it as 1:3000... but dont expect to see a difference Happy

2ms grey to grey is fine. my old 19" TFT got 12ms color to color which was quite strange at the beginning... but after some hours you are used to that as well.

Resolution of quake is fully customizable... in case your screen and gpu supports it you may have 2560*1600 as well... np... open end.
