ok, im just poping in to say that you sig is 540 kb large... that means that someone with a lets say ISDN has to wait for about 9 seconds to open it...

how about making it a gif instead of bmp? bmp sucks for just about anything.

If you followed the link I gave you regarding your rambus ? youll see that you can install up to a 2ghz P4 which should do okay with Doom 3 no speed demon but okay. You'll find that cpu on ebay ranging from 29 bucks on up to 99 "buy now" make sure you get the one with the right fsb I believe yours is 400 but check to make sure.

I have a friend playing doom 3 on an AMD XP 3000 which If I remember runs @ 2.16 ghz "without tinkering " So your board + 1gig ram and a 2ghz P4 with your current geforce should have no issues.

@ least till Quake 5 Arena Tongue.

Btw Your cdrom speed means absolutely nothing regarding this unless you have a 12x or lower Laughing

i dont like spending 500 euro now on my computer and discover later that quake4 will lag on it.
so i am going to wait until quake4 gets released. then i am going to browse all the quake4 system benchmarks and then buy new things with which quake4 will run smooth enough for me.

i have 2 spend more, 1gig of the ram i have is $400, than i need a videocard, $140 and now hes telling me i need a chipset!! Total money i need 2 spend = $740 US dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its a doom3 benchmark but it must come close to quake4 according to some.
is your $140 videocard capable of 60fps?
