So here is a bit of interesting information... (!)

"...If Google had a black screen, taking in account the huge number of
page views, according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year
would be saved."

In response Google created a black version of its search engine,
called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version,
but obviously with lower energy consumption:

GREAT!!! I've wished this to come! But only for selfish reasons (because I didn't know there are environmental reasons also). I have Google as starting site and if I do lots of work on computer the white light just starts to hurt my eyes. Thank you.

It really can if you work a lot on computer and you have to use google or some other white colored pages a lot. My eyes turn red and they hurt. I've had to buy eyedrops because of the pain and I'm not joking. I have button in my screen which makes the screen more darker (reading mode) but even that doesn't help.

Thanks for Blackle. I hope it had image search also though. For that I still have to go to Google.

I am glad to know you think is a good solution for you Happy

I know it has not images..it is indeed a drawback..who knows, they may add it in the future...but images will not be so enviromental friendly Tongue

you could also buy a filter for your screen to reduce the radiation..
