Good evening,

I get banned from the Beer Freezer today at 22:49pm because of "Please use an individual / unique CD key".

¤ My q3key file where Quake 3 check my cd key doesn't save the cd key I put everytime since I have installed Punk Buster, the most up-to-date version for Quake 3 Arena (I took Rayden's version, downloaded it on the forum) for the National Cup 2011.

¤ I tried to put the q3key file read-only but it doesn't work, the key get erased everytime I launch Quake 3 (even with read-only, don't know it was possible).

So now I get banned from the Beer Freezer for having changed my cd key. I don't know if it results of a new anti-cheat policy to put one ID on one player, but I would like to know :

1- Why my CD key get erased? I think it since I put the Rayden's PB version because I didn't have this problem before.

2-How to resolve the ban on the Beer Freezer?

I think other players may have this problem too, so answering to this post could be useful.

individual / unique CD key, try changing your cd key/ key gets deleted from baseq3 ? if you and change it to read only it must still be there ? or in quake 3 settings this is normal for me on e+ mod . raydens pb files should most likley be the same as everyone elses unless your on linux,

There were arroudn 17 players who had the same problem like you, because all of them shared 1 cd-key.

Just use a unique key and all is solved (*cough*keygen*cough*)

reinstall q3. for sure q3 do not earsing/deleting/overwriting existing cdkey from your files. maybe change cdkey ingame? in setup/optons or smth similar, not manually by notepad in windows.
also if some1 want pb client for linux i have latest version.

check forum regulary Tongue Qurvis said that he banned few players by one move Tongue and if some1 have problems, then he must conntact with him Winking

THE POPE : Yes, the strange thing is even with read-only, the q3key file is changed...

PHAZZ : All right, so maybe this is because everyone uses the same keygen for Quake 3. I'll try to change it again.

XVIBENEDYKT : I run Quake 3 under Windows 7 Ultimate x64, I'll try to change my cd key and see the results. And I don't know how long time stays a ban for this error.

SOLUTION : The cd key doesn't seemed to be changed by Quake 3 now with read-only, I don't know why. I should reinstall my OS soon I think, it must have too much shit. I changed my last q3 key, because I noticed it had 34 characters, a bit too many characters. In fact, Quake 3 erased my q3key, and the key was fucked up. Thanks for help, it seems to work fine now.

it does... faced the same error as him, i was kinda shocked the key file was empty after trying to connect to the war server

i have my own pb and my own cdkey witch i use since many years
