Is there a xp_switchtime speed that is like excessive v003? on excessive plus v003 default 0 switch time is to slow does not shift like norm. If i change switchtime to -1 it is too fast is there an inbetween number?
I would like the speed the same as the other excessive servers

Thanks

A value of 0 enables the original (vanilla quake) weapon switch method.
Which means 200ms delay plus waiting till the weapon is ready.

It just seems to be slower after you played for a while with our faster method, "switchTime"ms delay plus NOT waiting till the weapon is ready.

what faster method? switch time -1 thats fast. 0 you have to wait to shoot nethier one of these times is like other excessive servers that
i play at. How do i make it switch like norm? why does i shift like vanilla quake when the cfg. shows mr pants excessive overkill v003 thats what it should shift like v003.

So i can give switchtime a value of say 150 and that would be faster than 0 cause 0 is 200ms right?? is that how it works??

switchtime 0 is what Mr. Pants' Excessive Overkill and baseq3 use in all versions.

Yes, even 200 will be faster than 0 because you do not need to wait until the
weapon is ready.

[Switchtime 0] When going from nads to BFG there is more of a pause
before BFG fires on your v003 compared to normal excessive v003 other
peeps that i frag with also noticed that. all the other weapon shifts feel fine. Ive tried different switchtimes but cant get it right either to fast or to slow Sad ill mess with it some more

You're right. "Switch Time 0" is/were broken including v1.0rc2a.
I was looking at the current "beta" version, where it's working fine.
Somehow it was fixed, just too late for the second release candidate.

While we are at that, the Grenade's TTL is also wrong. It should be 1000 rather than 950.

Good work!

No it can't be fixed in v1.0rc2a but you can get close to it by optimizing the switchtime.
The grenade time to life (ttl) change wont fix that but it's important for "grenade trick jumps" to get super-high jumpheights.

If all works out, the next version won't take to long. It's already fixed there.
