Is this the right setting to allow other versions onto a 2.2b server ?

yes, but you can't connect to 2.2b server if you using 2.2 (and 2.2a I think) client, only older version are avaliable

The point about not allowing 2.2 and 2.2a in 2.2b server is xp_modelscale, since in 2.2 and 2.2a you can do bigger than 1, that is actually the reason why there was made a 2.2b.

settings 1 and 3 show the same msg , download 2.2b to play this server

so far with setting 2 havent seen this msg , but a lot of players connecting then disconnecting soon afterwards

perhaps it doesnt show when using 2 because legacy support not enabled? it could be that you need it enabled to allow messages? dunno really just a guess.

  • 0 Disable legacy support
  • 1 Enable legacy version support
  • 2 Spam legacy clients with console upgrade messages every 5 min
  • 4 Spam legacy clients with centerprint upgrade messages every 5 min

I was able to connect on vq3 and e+1.03, so maybe some other (loaded) mods trying to join?

yeah you could be right frank , i was hoping one of the dev team would have explained

i do see z-xp-2_0a.pk3 and z-xp-2_1.pk3 files in there aswell

anyone know if this is to keep these versions out , or allow them in ?

As Shudder said , he was allowed in with 1.03
