Well I'll just have to wait and see about the build, not really noticing any problems at the moment though and it feels incredibly durable compared to what I thought it'd be (mainly thanks to the metal back). What I'll be forced to disagree with though is the sound quality; since there's been 6(?) incarnations of the "normal" iPod we might not be talking about the same one but the sound quality on mine is awesome, and I'm so happy that it is because my old 256MB MP3 player had such great sound quality (much better to listen to than my computer and it's X-Fi soundcard and whatever) and I was afraid it'd be hard to replace. Great sound in the supplied "earbuds" (that fit my right ear perfectly and my left ear not at all, wtf) and as mentioned also on that weird little speaker Happy

I hear you on the last part though, fuck iTunes. I don't use a single feature on it apart from adding music and videos (that it doesn't convert itself) and don't have a compatible credit card for the store so it's basically useless and adds some stupid process that I can't turn off without it starting on me again. It's not too bad as long as it doesn't do anything obvious but if I find out it lags anything I do even once it's off my HDD.

Ipod shuffle 3d generation 1GB with no display or any fancy shit, dont need it for my "going to work and back home" route. All I wanted is top quality piece of hardware and I got it,cant say the same about the piece of sh*t software called Itunes, but apple rocks in hardware.

Best quality keyboard and monitor I ever saw was from apple, keyboard costs arround 60 euro and is slim and has rubberized buttons...top fucking quality,I might get it soon Winking

well my explanation was not so good Smug

a) ipod volume is restricted - i.e if you have better headphones you have to hack the firmware to allow a decent listening volume.

Cool no drag and drop mp3's allowed

c) quality: sounds good on average, but when you compare it to a creative or sony mp3 player and the quality is poor.

d) build. look on any forum and you will find issues about breakages, unknown faults, and not mentioning mysterious scratches

all in all , i personally would avoid anything apple, (apart from teh G5's Smug)

a) Ah, I'll have to try that out now then just because you say so Happy Have a pair of (way too expensive) Sennheisers on my old MP3 player, didn't bother switching since the "earbuds" were so good already, but I'm interested in this. I am sceptic since "max" volume right now is way more than my ears can even imagine to enjoy x)

[edit] Tested, you're crazy / the headset/s/ you're talking about sucks. Big grin [/edit]

Cool I thought it was since you can set it to work as normal storage but either way, it "is" drag and drop - to an explorer window or to an iTunes window (that pops up when connecting the iPod), it's not really any hassle Happy

c) Disagree, but again I don't know if we are talking about the same version of iPod and if it makes any difference. I've heard poor quality and I've heard good quality, there's nothing to complain about in that regard on my iPod.

d) On "any forum" you will find "any people" and most people just suck balls at treating their shit well and then bitch about it. Unknown faults sure, I can imagine that happening to something as advanced. Just as it does with almost everything else Happy I don't even have a good comment for "mysterious scratches", either it gets scratched by something or it doesn't get scratched Big grin Buying mine a protective thingie later this week though, because yeah it will be scratched if I scratch it, but not mysteriously Laughing

I wouldn't just "recommend" this to people though, it's of course totally up to everyone what they're looking for. Just listening to MP3's it's way too bulky and inconvenient, and unless you have a shitload of music and demand to be able to chose any track at any time it's not necessary and kind of expensive. But like me, I have like 20GB (good) music on it and several series/movies/other videos of it (of which I've watched several already in bed <3), it was a perfect christmas-gift-to-self! One of the games is real fun and works well too. I wish iTunes didn't blow so I could get more games.

More debate! To the death!
I think it's not off-topic, pics and stuff are still comin' in too.
